A Salute to Hunt Designs

The Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta is proud to announce that James H. "Sham" Hunt will be the distinguished speaker at Saturday evening's dinner August 10th.

James H. Hunt

  • Son of C. Raymond Hunt (110, 210, Concordia Yawl, Cal 40, Boston Whaler)
  • 5.5 Meter Olympic Gold Medalist -1960
  • Men's Champion - North American Yacht Racing Union
  • America's Cup crew
  • Has logged more than 350,000 miles of sailing

As the son of Raymond Hunt, there isn't a better person to take us back through the legend and brilliance of Hunt Designs than James.

Additionally and most notably, James was a Gold Medalist in the 1960 Olympics in 5.5 Meter's with George O'Day and Marblehead's David Smith; the 1968 Men's Champion, North American Yacht Racing Union; but he has also sailed over 350,000 nautical miles. No small fete'.

His career in yachting spans the duty of overseeing the management and manufacturing of O'Day, CAL, Ranger sailboats; Prindle catamarans; and Corsair trimarans. Sailing isn't all James knows: he is also a FAA certified pilot and for you Ski buffs - a certified ski instructor.

We urge you now to enter this season's regatta and make certain that you make dinner reservations for what will certainly be a fascinating and entertaining evening with "Sham".
