Schooner "Columbia" enters CCYR
Posted On: July 11, 2018

The Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta is honored to welcome yet another tremendous entry to the fleet for our 2018 edition – 'Columbia'. (Click link to watch the video)

'Columbia' is an exact replica of the 141' Gloucester Fishing Schooner that became famous for her two races with the schooner 'Bluenose' in the International Fisherman's Race, one of which she won.

The original 'Columbia', designed by Marblehead's own William Starling Burgess, was launched in 1923 but was lost in a hellacious storm in 1927 with all hands lost. The replica 'Columbia' was built by the owner of a prominent shipbuilding yard in the U.S. and launched in 2016.

'Columbia' joins the 104' schooner 'Altair' and General George Patton's 63' schooner 'When and If' in the Schooner Division.

This years' event continues to bring significant yachts of all designs and sizes to the entry list. This is an unbelievable opportunity to sail among some of the most beautiful classic yachts ever designed. DON'T MISS IT!

Join us August 11 & 12 for the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta, presented by Officine Panerai, the title sponsor of the Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge Circuit. You belong at this event!
